Concept

SVK:s organisation is open and flexible which makes SVK able to cope with and solve different kinds of problems in conservation. Preventive and interventive conservation problems are frequently discussed cross-disciplinary in order to find new solutions. This also enables us to get an effective use of the equipment and facilities.

SVK is a studio for conservation in Western Sweden collaborating with the museums in the region.SVK is also open for work on comission from others, such as the church, private collectors et cetera.

SVK:s concept is based on a wide definition of conservation of cultural heritage including both preventive and interventive actions.

SVK is part of a network of scientists, conservators, craftsmen and other experts. National and international contacts are considered of high importance to keep up with progress in the field of conservation.

To spread information of SVK:s activities an annual publication is produced. The conservators frequently present speeches, papers and posters.
